Meet our Team
Paul Di CristoDirector
Paul founded the Cerno Group with Co-Director Mike Figg in 2004 and has been instrumental in building a skilful team to assist with the successful delivery of Cerno's projects. Paul has a Bachelor of Building (Construction Management) and over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, covering project and development management, property investment, and facility and asset management.
Mike started the Cerno Group with Co-Director Paul Di Cristo in 2004. Mike has over 30 years’ experience in the property sector, with broad exposure across finance and accounting, airfreight, engineering, construction, property investment and development, and property funds management. His experience covers investments via partnerships, complex joint ventures and listed property entities. Mike is a qualified chartered accountant.
Donovan is a registered real estate agent with over 20 years’ experience across finance and accounting; manufacturing; construction; IT; and property investment, development and management. For the past 10 years, Donovan’s focus has been on property management and accounting across commercial, retail and industrial. Donovan has a Bachelor of Commerce in Business and Accounting and post graduate qualifications in Marketing.
Peter has over 40 years’ experience in quantity surveying and project management in the building industry. Since specialising in project management, Peter has demonstrated an impressive track record of delivering successful projects. Peter’s skill set includes financial management, estimating and cost planning, strategic planning and communications management. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science (Quantity Surveying).
Joining Cerno in 2013, Grant brings to the Group experience in managing functional teams within retail and manufacturing sectors, including Architectural Design, International Procurement, Business Development, and Research and Design. Grant is a specialist in presenting to stakeholders and negotiating planning provisions. Grant has an Associate Diploma of Architectural Drafting and an Advanced Diploma of Project Management.
Phillip has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, 14 of which has been with Cerno. With a practical and hands-on approach in managing consultants and contractors Phillip primarily focuses on construction refurbishment and fit outs to commercial and retail tenants. Phillip has a Bachelor of Building Construction degree and Masters in Property Development.
Alex is a results driven Project Manager with comprehensive experience at both a private and government level, with particular expertise across commercial/retail sectors. Her experience in the public sector has given her invaluable insight into how government agencies operate. Alex ensures that project objectives are met through effective stakeholder engagement and delivery of quality outcomes. Alex has a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT University.
Robbie is an attentive and diligent Project Manager with a strong grasp of complex project life cycles, particularly across the retail sector. Through his experience in stakeholder and communication management, proactive planning, and with his methodical approach, Robbie ensures a strong client focus throughout all project phases.
Allan recently joined the Cerno Team and brings with him over 15 years' experience working in both the education sector and for a large tier 2 residential and commercial contractor. Impacted by Churchill's quote: "We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us" Allan's passion is delivering sustainable buildings that positively impact the end user and the client. Allan has a combined Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree from University of NSW.
As Project Manager Anthony brings to the Cerno team over 25 years' industry experience ranging from large scale commercial to boutique and residential developments. Influenced by being an amateur boxer Anthony strives to stay outside his comfort zone and brings to project management an approach that "it never gets easier, we simply become stronger". Anthony has a Diploma in Architectural Drafting and Project Management.
David is a meticulous and dedicated Project Manager with broad experience in delivering projects across the commercial, retail, industrial, institutional, hospitality and public sectors - through all phases, from planning to handover.
David's formal training in Civil Engineering has engrained an analytical and structured approach to planning and problem solving on projects.
David has a LEED Green Associate certification and focuses on improving sustainability on all projects.
With a Bachelor of Business, Daniel brings an analytical approach to the Cerno Management Team and a different skill-set to a typical project manager. Daniel utilises his academic knowledge to find unique solutions to assist Cerno in a wide range of projects. Daniel specialises in cash-flow analysis, cost management, and financial reporting and analysis.
Prue joined Cerno to work on the Bushfire Recovery Victoria (BRV) 2021 Residential Storm and Flood Clean Up Program. BRV has since evolved into Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) and she is currently working on the October 2021 Flood Clean Up Program. Previously Prue worked for Grocon on the 2019/2020 Victorian Bushfire Clean Up. Prior to disaster recovery, Prue was self employed for 5 years as a freelance Interior Designer and stylist and worked as a Publicist for nearly a decade.
As a Project Manager Stephanie brings to the team strong industry experience in the residential and commercial sectors. Stephanie's previous experience as an interior designer instils in her projects a keen eye for detail and an effective design quality. Stephanie graduated from Swinburne University of Technology.
Lawrence RoseProject Manager for Emergency Recovery Victoria
Lawrence recently joined Cerno to assist with implementing the ERV Clean Up Program - the program enables disaster relief works within Parks Victoria. Lawrence has spent 20 years in construction, moving from labouring during school holidays through two trade apprenticeships before moving into management roles. Lawrence is currently undertaking his Bachelor of Construction Management through the University of South Australia.
Sarah joined Cerno to work on the Emergency Recovery Victoria Flood Clean Up Program. Sarah has prior experience within the residential construction industry where she focused on new greenfield estates. Sarah is passionate about serving the community and ensuring great outcomes through the built environment. Sarah has a Bachelor of Management.
Melinda's strong problem-solving capability brings to the Project Management team a valuable skill. Melinda is passionate about understanding the needs of the client and delivering successful projects is always her focus. Melinda is currently completing her Construction Management Science degree.
Cleo is studying a Bachelor of Construction Project Management. Cleo combines her theoretical knowledge with practical application to support Cerno with various projects. Cleo assists in preparing overall cost management, payment recommendations and monthly reports with the guidance of the project management team.
Yanni assists Project Managers and Directors with all project related tasks. Prior to recently joining Cerno Yanni spent time as a paralegal at a boutique law firm and as a project manager for a boutique marketing firm. Yanni is driven by ensuring all clients receive the best possible outcome through a seamless and stress-free process. With a BCom (Marketing and Business Law) degree from USyd, Yanni is currently completing his Juris Doctor.
Chris began his career as a Facilities Manager with the Cerno Group in 2013, before transitioning into the role of Property Manager due to his quick uptake and understanding of the industry and his ability to manage a busy shopping centre. Chris’s proactive approach to problem solving provides a valuable resource to the Cerno team. Chris has a Bachelor of Construction and Property Management, a Diploma in Finance and a Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate).
With a background in law enforcement, Joseph is able to bring a unique way of thinking and approach to different situations to the Cerno Property Services team. He understands the challenges that a Facilities Management role entails and has a strong commitment and drive to effectively overcome any day-to-day challenges that present themselves. Joseph has a professional attitude and thrives on building constructive relationships with all stakeholders.
Following a career as a professional sports person Sam transitioned his career into the property sector . Sam recently joined Cerno after a number of years at a leading property group undertaking a range of acquisitions and development led activities. Sam's strong work ethic and innate ability to build a team is a great asset to the Cerno team. Sam holds a Masters degree in Property Development & Investment.
As Cerno's Group Financial Controller and Secretary, Vanessa brings to the role almost 20 years' of finance and accounting experience working for both large and small organisations. Vanessa has a Bachelor of Business degree from Sydney's University of Technology, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Erin Soper is the Cerno Group’s Accountant. With over 10 years' experience in the property industry, Erin has previously worked as a personal assistant and within the accounts department in the strata industry. Erin has completed the Certificate for Level Three Business Office Administration and holds a current Certificate of Registration in Strata Management.
Michelle supports the Accounts Department and assists with organising and managing various projects. Michelle's excellent multi-tasking ability and skill in managing stakeholder expectations makes her a valuable member across the Cerno Group.
Katie recently joined Cerno assisting the Portfolio Property Manager and Facilities Manager. Katie brings to her role extensive experience in small retail and large shopping centres. Katie thrives on positivity and believes that if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Katie has completed a Business Administration course.
Stephanie manages the Operations for Cerno Group. Stephanie has over 10 years’ consulting experience on workforce management in the corporate and educational sectors. Prior to consulting, Stephanie practiced as a clinical psychologist. Stephanie has a PhD in Psychology.
With a background in accounting, Tom assists the Project team with their financial reporting and transactions. In his spare time Tom often heads outdoors or, as a massive NRL fan, enjoys watching sport. Tom has a certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and is currently completing his Diploma in Project Management.
