Western Harbour Tunnel Walkthrough
A huge thank you to Acciona AU & NZ for letting us get a close-up look at their incredible work on the Western Harbour Tunnel project.
Our team thoroughly enjoyed the “dive” into project objectives, buildability solutions and how they made it all happen. The mud on our boots may be gone, but the memories will stick with us for a long time.
Bowls Champions!
Last Friday saw the return of our much loved annual lawn bowls competition, an evening full of friendly rivalry, laughs, and great team spirit.
After some intense rounds and questionable bowling techniques, we’re pleased to crown this year’s champions – Robbie McGowan and Chris Bogdan! 🏆
Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fun night. Events like these are a great reminder that while we work hard, we also know how to celebrate as a team.

Exciting progress is happening on-site, with works now underway as we raise the “bar” for the Food and Beverage offerings at Club Marconi! 👏
We’re proud to see this project taking shape, with Alerce leading the delivery and continuing their great work.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to the grand opening!

Peter Whittle – Thank you for your service!
After 14.5 years of dedicated service, wisdom and leadership, Peter Whittle has decided to trade deadlines and emails for retirement and a more leisurely pace.
Peter has been a fixture at Cerno, contributing to many of its achievements and successes, and having delivered countless projects and experiences.
Words cannot begin to describe our appreciation of his dedication, collaboration, guidance, wit, support and friendship over the years. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being such an integral part of our Cerno family.
We know this is a “see you later” rather than goodbye and look forward to catching up soon!

The Cerno team recently had the privilege of being joined by Enrico Zara, Associate Principal and Global Decarbonisation Leader at Arup. Enrico Zara shared invaluable insights into the journey toward decarbonisation and net zero, the importance of whole of life carbon considerations, and the transformative potential of adaptive reuse in fit-outs.
We also explored how our projects can better balance sustainability with functionality by addressing their impacts on nature. With Enrico’s expert advice, we’re motivated to enhance our project strategies and deliver even more impactful, future focused solutions for our clients.
Big thanks to Enrico for inspiring us to think bigger and act smarter for a more sustainable future!
