Project Appointment – Danebank Anglican School

Space 207 – External Courtyard Handover

Another milestone completed at Space 207 in St Leonards! 👏

The courtyard has had a face-lift with new seating zones designed to support the many ways people use the space, whether it’s catching up with colleagues, enjoying lunch, taking a call, or simply relaxing in the sun. This project is a great example of how thoughtful design and collaboration can bring new life to everyday spaces. We’re excited to see it become a hub of connection, comfort, and activity.

Cerno Projects proudly provided end-to-end project management services, delivering a complex demolition and reconfiguration project whilst maintaining building operations through carefully planned staging.

Darling Park Level 6

Great to see the completion of another premium speculative suite at Darling Park Tower 1, delivered on behalf of The GPT Group.

Cerno Projects managed the delivery of this approx. 1,000m² workplace on Level 6, bringing together a highly functional layout with a strong focus on user experience and outlook across Darling Harbour.

The tenancy offers a diverse mix of spaces, including a feature boardroom, meeting rooms, quiet focus areas and a central collaboration zone, all designed to support the needs of modern occupiers. With the suite leased ahead of practical completion, the project highlights the impact of clear project direction, thoughtful design and a well-aligned delivery team.

580 George St Practical Completion

We’re delighted to announce the successful practical completion of the electrical infrastructure upgrade at 580 George Street.

Delivered by Fredon and designed by ER&D, this project has modernised the building’s electrical systems, improved reliability, and future‑proofed operations— all within a busy CBD environment.

Project highlights:
🔹 Replacement and upgrade of main switchboards, metering, and control systems
🔹 Enhanced safety and resilience for tenants and building operations
🔹 Integration of new systems for smarter monitoring and management

Macquarie University 14SCO Completion

Another successful project delivered with Macquarie University.

We’ve recently wrapped up another laboratory and teaching facility fit-out for Macquarie University, continuing a valued partnership built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to quality outcomes.

It’s always rewarding to work with clients who value thoughtful planning, strong project delivery, and long-term collaboration.

Melbourne Metro Tunnel Big Switch

On the 1st of February, the Metro Tunnel officially reached its “Big Switch” moment, marking a significant step forward in transforming the city’s transport network.

Over the past 5 years, Cerno Group has worked closely with RMIT University to coordinate between the University and the Metro Tunnel Project. This involved ongoing collaboration, careful planning, and clear communication to support one of Victoria’s most complex infrastructure projects.

It’s been a privilege to support RMIT through this journey and to play a part in a project that will benefit Melbourne for many years to come.

Ronald McDonald House Working Bee

Last Wednesday, the Cerno Projects team rolled up their sleeves for a working bee at Ronald McDonald House Sydney.

It was a hands-on way to give back and support the families who rely on this incredible service whilst their children are receiving treatment at Sydney Children’s Hospital.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute and proud of the team for getting involved.

27-29 Little Lonsdale Stage 1 Completion

We’re pleased to share that Stage 1 of works has been successfully completed under our project management, in close collaboration with our client IFM Investors and construction delivery partner Biuro. The heritage 27-29 Lt Lonsdale Street building has now been carefully returned to its cold shell state, revealing the impressive potential of this rare standalone asset in Melbourne’s CBD.

Previously a Knitting Mill, the space boasts soaring ceiling heights, abundant natural light, and heritage charm, creating a unique foundation for an exceptional commercial environment. Located in a vibrant city pocket, the building is perfectly positioned for its next life.

We’re proud to be guiding this project on behalf of IFM and look forward to continuing our partnership as we move into the next stage of revitalising this iconic asset

Project Completion – Space 207 On Floor works

We’re proud to announce the completion of our latest project for Aware Real Estate at 207 Pacific Highway, St Leonards. Cerno Projects were engaged to manage the internal strip out and refurbishment across five floors at Space 207, including open plan warm shell fit outs ready for new incoming tenants. A huge thank you to the EGS Projects team for a smooth project delivery and a great end result.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next exciting stage of works at Space 207 – the forecourt upgrade demolition works are currently in progress, with the site team preparing for the first of the new finishes to be installed in the coming weeks!

Project Completion – Club Marconi Stage 2

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of our latest project at Club Marconi, where the transformation of the food and beverage space has now reached completion of Stage 2, with further stages to come. 👏

From concept to construction, this project has been a true collaboration. Together with Alerce, we’ve delivered a dynamic entertaining precinct that raises the bar.

Project Award – Manon Tearoom

We’re pleased to announce that Cerno Group has been appointed to deliver the new Manon Tearoom at Chatswood Chase.

This venue will bring a refined and elegant tearoom experience to one of Sydney’s premier retail destinations. Located within the newly refurbished Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre, the space will offer high-quality teas, artisanal pastries, and light meals in a setting that blends sophistication, comfort, and contemporary design.

Helping those in need

On June 13th, our Victorian team rolled up their sleeves and spent the day volunteering at the FareShare kitchen, which is a great charity that provides free, nutritious meals to people doing it tough across Victoria.

Thanks to the FareShare team for having us, we’re proud to play a small part in the incredible work you do.

Also, a special shoutout to Joseph Foti, who was crowned our very own Sous Chef for the day! 👨‍🍳👏

Annual Company Conference

At the beginning of June our Sydney and Melbourne teams came together for a two day conference in the beautiful surrounds of Berry, NSW, with time spent across Linnaeus Farm and Moraea Farm.

It was an opportunity to connect as a team while being able to reflect on FY25 achievements and reset our focus for the year ahead.

Western Harbour Tunnel Walkthrough

A huge thank you to Acciona AU & NZ for letting us get a close-up look at their incredible work on the Western Harbour Tunnel project.

Our team thoroughly enjoyed the “dive” into project objectives, buildability solutions and how they made it all happen. The mud on our boots may be gone, but the memories will stick with us for a long time.

Bowls Champions!

Last Friday saw the return of our much loved annual lawn bowls competition, an evening full of friendly rivalry, laughs, and great team spirit.

After some intense rounds and questionable bowling techniques, we’re pleased to crown this year’s champions – Robbie McGowan and Chris Bogdan! 🏆

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fun night. Events like these are a great reminder that while we work hard, we also know how to celebrate as a team.

Peter Whittle – Thank you for your service!

After 14.5 years of dedicated service, wisdom and leadership, Peter Whittle has decided to trade deadlines and emails for retirement and a more leisurely pace.

Peter has been a fixture at Cerno, contributing to many of its achievements and successes, and having delivered countless projects and experiences.

Words cannot begin to describe our appreciation of his dedication, collaboration, guidance, wit, support and friendship over the years. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being such an integral part of our Cerno family.

We know this is a “see you later” rather than goodbye and look forward to catching up soon!

Cerno x ARUP

 The Cerno team recently had the privilege of being joined by Enrico Zara, Associate Principal and Global Decarbonisation Leader at Arup. Enrico Zara shared invaluable insights into the journey toward decarbonisation and net zero, the importance of whole of life carbon considerations, and the transformative potential of adaptive reuse in fit-outs.

We also explored how our projects can better balance sustainability with functionality by addressing their impacts on nature. With Enrico’s expert advice, we’re motivated to enhance our project strategies and deliver even more impactful, future focused solutions for our clients.

Working alongside EML Group and our key project stakeholders, Cerno delivered a comprehensive scope of services, including project brief approval, design and tender coordination, CDC approval, and construction contract execution. We also ensured the delivery of all construction requirements, handover documentation, and OC approval.
