A trip down memory lane at Hurstville Central Shopping Centre

24 July 2020

This is an interesting article looking back at the installation of the first escalators, between street level and concourse, at a train station in Sydney back in 1978.

Fast forward over 40 years and these escalators located on Forest Road, Hurstville are still servicing an enormous amount of foot traffic and are currently in the process of being replaced by Transport NSW to continue to adequately service the community.

The current replacement project, managed and funded by Transport NSW, is due to be completed in August 2020. Given these escalators are one of the key entryways into Hurstville Central Shopping Centre, a property that is proudly managed by Cerno Property Services, we are certainly excited to see the project take shape.
